Rocío (She/Her) is a Partnerships & Outreach Coordinator with DEI Outdoors. She has a history of music performance and studied at the ‘Frank Sinatra School of the Arts’ high school in NYC. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in a self-created major at SUNY Fredonia, focusing on nontraditional classroom spaces for learning and the influence of nature on artistic expression-songwriting and composition. She also holds a Master’s degree in Recreation from SUNY Cortland, where she primarily focused on career readiness of young developing professionals within urban camp settings, higher education green initiatives, and creating inclusive wild spaces. She is passionate about bridging the gap for previously excluded communities to access employment that fosters professional, emotional, and mental stability. Rocío enjoys the nitty gritty of database architecture and building relationships with potential partners, inspiring individuals to show up strong, smart, and bold. She is incredibly passionate about being in community with humans (or however you want to show up) around food, laughter, and art. You can find her in Santa Fe, NM, with her partner Taylor and their dog Clif.
