Dave is trying his best to be a good ancestor. Before his current country lifestyle on Mohican land in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, Dave enjoyed big city life, living in Chicago for five years and New York City for sixteen years. Over the years, Dave collaborated with a diverse variety of people and ages to make art and improve educational experiences. As an educator, Dave worked in independent and public schools teaching humanities, science, theatre, and more. He spent fourteen years working at LREI in NYC, a progressive school in the West Village. As an actor and theatremaker, Dave trained extensively with Anne Bogart’s SITI Company and Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Dave is also a musician who is steeped in blues and blues-rooted music. As a lifelong lover of the outdoors, Dave enjoys hiking and exploring nature. He equally loves mountains, valleys, fresh water, salt water, and everything in between in all four seasons. He has participated in the Birder’s Certificate Program with the Massachusetts Audubon Society so that he can proudly wear the title “bird nerd.” Dave’s facilitation interests and skills center around deep listening, challenging the status quo, and team building. He is very interested in Indigenous history, and some of his biggest activist heroes speak from a Queer, Black, Feminist point of view. A proud abolitionist and anti-racist, Dave seeks to expand his connection to nature and people wherever he is, and he aims to share and experience joy through self-care and with community.
